Ready for tears, laughter and maybe a happily every after…. RIO 2014

 In Football, World Cup RIO

48 years of hurt. 48 years since England’s greatest ever player; Bobby Moore lifted the famous Jules Rimet trophy above his head after our nation’s only ever World Cup triumph. Will this year be any different, or will heartache and despair relinquish our feeling of optimism and joy?

Whether you follow football or not, the World Cup is a time for everyone to come together and share passion and excitement for the beautiful game. Rio is famous for its carnivals, its football and the Christ the Redeemer statue and although Bexleyheath only has a clock tower and a bowling alley, we’re confident that we can create our own stunning atmosphere here at nYne!!

It’s an exciting time for English football, with the latest breed of fresh talent breaking through in the form of Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley and Adam Lallana. Their inclusion, coupled with the presence of the ever reliable Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard could, just maybe…lead to something special. Facing the likes of Uruguay and Italy in the group stages is going to offer a significant challenge. International talents such as Luis Suarez and Andrea Pirlo threaten to tarnish England’s hopes, but we know our boys can pull through!!

England vs Italy – 14th June, k/o 11pm
England vs Uruguay – 19th June, k/o 8pm
England vs Costa Rica – 24th June, k/o 5pm

We’ve got a BIG Screen , Pre-match BBQ and we’ll be enjoying every minute in glorious HD. Get behind the boys with us and help us create an atmosphere to rival Rio!!
